It would seem that most people today are talking about Blogging.

I guess the big question I get is, can you make money by Blogging?

How often do I need to blog?

What do I blog about?

All good questions…. I have been blogging for a couple of years now; I have many different blogs covering lots of topics and on every blog site I have adverts and ways to monetize the site, so in answer to the second question, Yes! you can make money blogging, you just have to know how

So let me give you 6 Tips for Blogging:

6 Tips For Blogging Success!

If you want to make money through blogging, creating a popular blog is the key to success. If your blog receives very little traffic, you will not have much success monetizing it. No matter which method you use to make money from your blog, you will find the most success if you have a large readership. Because of this, making your blog popular and growing readership should be one of your primary concerns.

There are many ways to make your blog more popular. The first thing you should consider is who your audience is and who you are writing for. You should always write about something that interests you, and that will interest others. You may think that your new kitten is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but there are probably not very many other people who want to read a blog about it, unless of course your blog happens to be about kittens   It is best to find a niche audience that is large enough to support a wide readership but not too vague.

One of the great things about blogging is that you do not have to be a professional writer to have a popular blog. You do have to obey common grammatical rules and at least be able to put together coherent sentences, but you do not have to be a highly skilled writer. In fact some of my favourite blogs are ones that are what I would call sloppy English and the odd grammar issue and spelling errors as well.

1. Blog readers are looking for interesting, relevant topics to read, not the next work of Shakespeare. Make sure what you write is interesting, edgy, or even controversial. Popular blogs are never boring and add value to readers’ lives either through information or entertainment. Make sure your blog adds something of value to your reader’s life otherwise you will not develop a large fan base, and we need a large fan base to make it all work and to make the money that most bloggers are wanting from their sites.

2. Making your blog popular is a lot like driving traffic to a website. You can use many of the same techniques to drive traffic to your blog. Finding places to link back to your blog is a good way to drive traffic. Social sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and You tube provide lots of opportunities for this. You can also use social book marking sites such as Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Digg to promote your blog. Blogging on a popular blog site such as Wordpress and Blogger are also good ways to make your blog more popular as these blogging sites help to bring in traffic for your blog.

3. Whether you blog on a blogging network or you have an independently hosted blog, you need to make sure your blog is designed well. It is true that content is king and if a blog has great content it may receive lots of traffic even though it is ugly. Having a well designed blog that is not ugly or annoying will help to drive repeat traffic. You want your blog to look unique, but not too unique. Keep with internet formalities such as blue links and use large font for headings.

4. You should break your post up into small paragraphs each with a headline if possible as internet readers tend to scan the screen looking for relevant information rather than reading everything word for word. Make sure your colors do not contrast too harshly and that the text is easy to read. Using good design will make your blog aesthetically pleasing and make readers more likely to come back and remain on your page. I see many people like to use the black background and white letters, I personally find that just too hard to read. I am sure there are many Baby Boomers out there who struggle the same as I do trying to read these most difficult sites. Black on white is fine, the other way round is ok for the younger set who still have eyesight

5. No matter where your blog is hosted, you should try to get it indexed by all the major search engines. Some forms of blog monetization require that your blog be indexed by search engines before they will allow you to participate in your program. The higher ranked your blog is, the more visitors you will receive and the more popular your blog will become. I would get any new site listed into the 3 main search engines as soon as possible and there is an easy way to do this using this Site Submission Link It also helps to send it out to all the Social Bookmarking and Social Networking sites as well.

6. All forms of monetization for your blog require readers to enjoy their stay, and their experiance. Before you try to implement your monetization strategies, make sure your blog has enough readers to make your efforts work. If there is no one to click your ads, visit your affiliate sites, or read your reviews, you do not stand much of a chance of making money. So make the articles interesting and informative.

Autoposters

How Often? … my suggestion is at least once a week. On this, my very own blog, I like to do all the blog posts myself and so I blog once or twice a week, sometimes more but if so, then I schedule the posts to come in over a period of one to 3 weeks, it just depends. In today’s amazing world, we don’t need to blog ourselves as we have all these amazing Autoposters that do the job for us. So once setup they will put in information on your topic as often as you set it for, both articles and videos. It is amazing.

What do I blog about?.. well it needs to be on topic thats for sure. So whatever the topic then you need to talk about it. If you run out of things to write about then either use the Autoposters or find someone you can interview. Once you interview them, then you can turn the interview into a video, by taking their main points putting them onto a power point and then using a program like Movie Making Programs or MS Movie Maker. It really is endless what you can do… but whatever you do have fun

7 Tools Webinar – Learn To Automate

I held a webinar recently that showed folks how to automate their Internet Marketing Tasks.

There are so many amazing tools out there in the Internet World that can and will help you get things done quickly and more easily.

Nothing is totally automatic of course – you do have to do some work, but with these tools a lot less than you would normally do.

It does not matter if you are into Website Submission of all your sites, Bookmarking Submission, RSS Submission, automation tools are still available.

Article Marketing

Maybe you want to get articles out there by the thousands but you are not that good at writing or re-writing then there are amazing products out there for you to help with that as well. I have to say when I discovered this tool I was over the moon.

It can be a bit hard to get the start on the article so when I came across these 15000 Articles it helped me with giving at least launching an article. So what I do is check to see if there is an article there in the  15000 articles and if so, I can now take that, put it into the re-writer software, spin it and hey presto! there is another great article. The other part of the 2Marketing Tools is a submitter, and that then sends out your article to hundreds of directories for you. It’s fantastic…. so check that out on the webinar as well.

Automate Your Traffic

It can be very tedious sending your links out to the Social Bookmarking Sites and the Video Sites and so when I found this amazing product I was very happy. This allows you to send your links to whatever, it could be a link to your Website, an Article you have up in an article directory or a video you have in one of the Video places, whatever it is fantastic and will help you get your Maximum Exposure. This software offers you two options in purchase, I took the non monthly option and paid the $70 one off fee. I show you this product on this webinar as well. Worth a look at.

Automate Your Tweeting

One of the big things as we all know, unless you have been hiding under a rock is Twitter I love Twitter and it has been responsible for a whole lot of traffic and sales. But as I go around the world and train people I find that no one wants to tweet, they don’t have the time.. I thought the same so started on a journey to find some twitter software that could do alot of the work for me. I don’t really have time to do the Following and Unfollowing and all the tweets throughout the day… I have tried a few products both free and bought and finally decided on a product. The one I have chosen to use a recommend is brilliant and safe.

You have to be safe on Twitter as far as how many people you follow in a day etc or you can have your account shut down. So this program is fantastic and does the tweets for you, Follows the people, unfollows the people, send messages etc all on auto. Of course you do need to do some work in setting it up, but once done it is fantastic…

These are seminars I hole around the country in New Zealand. I got an email asking me to be interviewed on the TV about them. Wow my first TV interview.

I guess she was taken back abit by my amazing new skin I had got put on my laptop she just wanted to talk about that. It was fun I have to say, then she asked me where the Seminar was going to be held… opps complete mind blank..

New Zealand Internet Marketer

I have to say I am totally passionate about Internet Marketing, and about business Online and Offline in New Zealand particularly, but overseas as well. No matter where I speak I am asked the same questions..

1. Is there really money to be made online?

4. Will one site give me enough money so I can retire?
5. How much time do I have to spend on my Online Business?

These questions and many more are great questions and all deserve an open an honest answer, which I am going to give via video, as I believe they are worth answering honestly and well.

Well am I ever excited this coming week I have two live seminars one is my 7 Tools Seminar and the other is 7 Tools To Internet Success

Most people who have websites have spent thousands of dollars getting them created only to find that they can’t get or don’t get traffic at all to the website. This is both annoying and costly.

Coffee At Your Place

I have a traditional Business as well as all my On Line Business’s it’s a coffee business called Coffee At Your Place, we have coffee Machines and sell Coffee etc. I spent a few thousand dollars on getting a website built and there is was….

Now how on earth do I get traffic to my site. I asked my web designer… he said well do Adwords…. well what is Adwords and how do I do it. Good questions. He said to find someone to do it for me…. well that was early 2008, since then I went on a quest to learn how to get traffic to my site.

Why do I say Your Web Designer Is Ripping You Off…

Well because what they do in most cases is use a template form to build your site, in most cases you provide the copy and then they set it up according to what they want or what Template they have going, then they don’t use keywords or H1 or H2’s etc so you cannot be found on Google. It’s a total waste of money. It’s like getting a building on a street and setting it up to sell stuff but never turning on the lights or putting up a sign…..

One thing I know for sure and certain and that is this, most Web designers could care less for you or your site once you have paid over the money. They can’t wait to get your site done and then after that they want paid and then shot of you. If you want them to change something for you, they will charge you an arm and a leg to get it done, they will also take forever to do it. They don’t care… so the answer is….

Look after it all yourself or Outsource it to someone who does give a damn….

I will show you a way round this that is simple and puts you in control. Now will the web designers out there like me for it…. No… they won’t but I am tired of being ripped off and then held to ransom to them…

I have many clients who have told me horrific stories of their Web designers. The Web designer builds the site which is great, I guess if its built the way You want it… that’s only half the deal though, the other part is Traffic, if you don’t have traffic you don’t make sales, you don’t have a business…. So how do you get Traffic without it costing you more money, and are you throwing good money after bad…. Well in my opinion YES unless you are using relevant Keywords and you have your H1’s etc setup..

I sure am, I am on Facebook, and Twitter and Linkedin and so the list goes on and on…
But the real question is, are you doing it right?

One thing I know is what goes up there stays forever, the good and the bad.

Recently I have had the misfortune of having all my YouTube accounts deleted not once but so far 7 times, everytime I put one up it gets deleted, so now when you click on the video’s it comes up and says ” this account has been deleted due to Violation of Code” there was no warning and I am still at a loss as to what I did..
It’s very dishearting when it happens time after time, every channel after that I was very careful to use me and only me and my stuff, but still they deleted me. No reason, just gone. So now that leaves me with a huge problem of 1000’s of video’s that make me look like a criminal. What to do… well keep going, and make sure there is as much positive stuff out there with my name on it… its just what happens, so here we go again with another channel. Will see how I go.
So all that to say, have you thought of what you put on line and the impact it could have on you and maybe even your Grandchildren in years to come. It’s scary. However if we know all that we can make sure we do things right, from the begining.
3 Top Tips today of what not to do in Social Marketing:

1. Not sharing enough personal details
It’s called Social Networking for a reason….

2. Sharing too many personal details
Change your age by one or two years… I said one or two ladies

3. Selling too much
Your there to make friends first, sales will follow…. Social Networking is not get rich over night, its make friends over night…. hmmm they could be taken wrong
